After dinner speaker and performer - Rosemary Hawthorne

Rosemary Hawthorne is a fab and funny fashion lady!

Rosemary Hawthorne (aka The Knicker Lady) is a classically trained actress – she was at RADA “…a million years ago, darling, but I won a medal for acting and a book token Costume Prize, vague hints as to what I might do in the future.”

When not on stage with her One Woman Show, or in front of the camera, Rosemary is a much loved After Dinner Speaker, Fashion Commentator, Social Historian and Entertainer, happy to amuse men and women, young, middle and old, as she lifts each spry or weary vintage garment (it could be a hat, dress, bag, pair of boots…vest…suspenders…) and, holding them aloft, makes a passing comment that has an audience in fits of laughter.

Rosemary’s exceptional gift is to make the ordinary….extraordinary! She does this by simply adding a pinch of pungent sartorial history to her broad-based, comedic delivery.

“I often use Moll to help me. She’s a dressmaker's dummy born in Balham, in 1880. She’s developed a slight tilt, but, boy, she’s got style. Kate Moss on a tripod! Moll looks good in anything.”
